Programme summary
Build on your existing woodworking skills and develop the advanced techniques needed to work confidently and independently in furniture design and making. This course deepens your understanding of design, drawing, construction methods, machinery, and finishing, while strengthening your confidence in independent workshop practice.
Entry requirements
Applicants usually hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in a related area such as woodwork, furniture making, design, or construction, but we also welcome learners who have gained skills through experience rather than formal education. An interest in working with materials, a hands-on approach, and a willingness to develop advanced practical skills are essential. Mature applicants are very welcome.
