Delivery Format Our QQI module offers comprehensive blended learning with dedicated tutor support, eliminating the need for in-person lectures. Learners have a 90-day window to complete the module, starting on any Monday or Thursday. Extensions or pauses can be arranged through our office if needed.

Programme summary

The module is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to provide care for people who experience mental health problems, under nursing supervision, in the mental health services and/or to work in a broad range of support roles within mental health settings.

Entry requirements

To access programmes leading to this award the learner should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the preceding level of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience. Ideally a minimum of Level 4 certificate standard of education and a strong interest in the provision of quality care in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in written and spoken English, as well as computer literacy skills, are essential. Students undertaking Level 6 module s are expected to demonstrate proficiency in reading, drafting, preparing, and comprehending information across various topics. Basic IT skills and access to necessary equipment such as a computer, broadband, email, Microsoft Office, and recording equipment are required for skills demonstration tasks. Additionally, learners must be capable of self-directed study as this module is delivered through blended learning.
