Sport Health & Exercise Science

This course, which replaced the BSc Health & Performance Science degree in September 2025, is suitable for you if you have a strong interest in sport, health and exercise science and wish to pursue a career in high performance sport, a clinical profession (e.g. exercise science, physiotherapy, dietetics, medicine) and/or scientific research in sport, health and exercise science.

To meet minimum entry requirements (matriculation) on the results of the Leaving Certificate, a student must present at least six recognised subjects selected according to course requirements and must obtain at least Grade H5 in two subjects and Grade O6/H7 in the remaining four subjects. Leaving Cert Subject Entry Requirements O6/H7 in English, Irish, Mathematics, a laboratory science subject and two other recognised subjects Health Screening & Garda Vetting Special Entry Recommendation It is not mandatory, but is highly recommended that a UCD healthcare screening is conducted for student entrants to this programme
