This course uses modern blended learning, industry relevant projects, continuous skills-based assessment combined with exam based assessment. Focus is upon cultivating professional development skills for project management, problem-based learning, and critical thinking-based research. During your time on this course you will be supported by staff who are dedicated to developing links with industry, helping you to acquire practical development experience and attain lifelong learning skills to enable you to stay up to date with the rapidly evolving technologies in Software Development.

Leaving Certificate with five O6 grades (or five passes pre 2017) or equivalent is the standard entry requirement for Level 5 courses. Leaving Certificate Applied or QQI Level 4 Award are also acceptable on the majority of Level 5 courses. Some courses have subject specific requirements and these will be noted on relevant course pages. A QQI Level 5 award or equivalent in a relevant subject area is the standard entry requirement for Level 6 Advanced Certificate courses.
