Religion & English Studies

Students on this course will be engaged with contemporary debates about, for example, the nature and impact of political religion, religion and modernity, religion and gender, religion and violence, religion and human rights, and ethics in politics. The study of English is concerned with the history and practices of writing in English and encompasses literary works spanning English, Anglo-Irish, American and postcolonial cultures.

Minimum Entry Requirements: Irish Leaving Certificate To be considered for admission to a degree course at the University applicants must: Present six subjects, three of which must be at grade 5 or above on higher Leaving Certificate papers. The six subjects above must include: A pass in English A pass in mathematics (or foundation level mathematics) A pass in a language other than English.
