Psychosocial and Spiritual Aspects of Palliative Care 2

This module will provide participants with the opportunity to deepen learning and application of theory in psychosocial and spiritual care, develop relational empathic sills and demonstrate critical reflective practice in psychosocial and spiritual care in palliative care. As an inter-disciplinary module, participants will gain a deeper awareness of the integrated approach of the wider healthcare team in palliative care alongside a development of psychosocial and spiritual awareness appropriate to the particular healthcare discipline of each participant. This module will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to attend to the generalist level psychosocial and spiritual issues of patients and their families in palliative care. The module will also focus on deepening appreciation and practice of restorative self-reflection and self-care of the professional in palliative care when caring for patients and families facing a life-limiting illness.
