Programme summary

For graduates (e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Nanotechnology, etc.) who wish to increase their skills with an understanding of applied physics and knowledge of the physical principles underlying material properties, and the operation of processes and equipment, both for the research and high technology sectors. Applications from other graduates who have a sufficient mathematical element in their primary degree in addition to other relevant technical background are considered as well. The programme is also very successful with graduates from BSc of Science with concurrent Teacher Education programmes.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8) with at least a second-class honour, grade 2 (2:2) in a relevant or appropriate Scientific or Engineering subject e.g., Physics, Chemistry, Materials, Nanotechnology, etc. Applications from graduates who have a sufficient mathematical element in their primary degree in addition to other relevant technical background will also be considered. The programme is also open to graduates from BSc of Science with concurrent Teacher Education programmes. Other Entry Considerations: We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet the standard entry requirements, as long as you can show that you have the knowledge, skills, and experience needed for the programme.
