Programme summary

The overall aim of the MSc Nursing (Perioperative Care) programme is to provide registered nurses currently working in perioperative care with the opportunity to develop and enhance specialist level knowledge and skills in the area of perioperative nursing care. A key goal of this programme is to prepare nurses for the challenges of leading and delivering specialist/ advanced level perioperative care.

Entry requirements

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8) with at least a second-class honour, grade 2 (2:2) in a discipline Be a registered nurse on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Be engaged in practice as a registered nurse for at least one year. Students are expected to work in a peri-operative practice setting throughout the programme. Successful applicants must have Garda clearance, health screening, CPR certification and vaccinations before placement (any costs will be covered by the student).
