Programme summary
The MSc Advanced Practice (Nursing) provides registered nurses with opportunities to expand knowledge and skills personally and professionally, to practice both autonomously and collaboratively in a defined area of advanced nursing practice, meeting national health policy reform in addressing population healthcare needs.
Entry requirements
Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree (NFQ Level 8)) with at least a second-class honours, grade 2 (2:2) in any discipline. Be a registered nurse on the current register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Be engaged in practice as a registered nurse for at least three of the last five years, with a total of one year's full-time experience in the specific area of practice. Students are expected to work in a practice setting throughout the programme. Applicant must receive endorsement by their Director of Nursing and also identify a professional mentor and a clinical mentor.
