Programme summary

The purpose of the Level 5 Medical Terminology module is to equip the learner with the knowledge, skill and competence with the terminology applicable and relevant specifically to a medical receptionist or secretarial role in a medical practice, clinic and or hospital context.

Entry requirements

Available to Adults 18+ To access programmes leading to this award the student should have reached the standards of knowledge, skill and competence associated with the level 5 of the National Framework of Qualifications. This may have been achieved through a formal qualification or through relevant life and work experience. APPLICANTS WHOSE FIRST LANGUAGE IS NOT ENGLISH A minimum English language proficiency of B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) is required. The course is Tutor led with Online Live Class delivered via Microsoft Teams. This is an intensive course and applicants must have access to a Laptop/PC and good WIFI. Applicants must also have a good command of occupational English in both written and verbal form and strong written and numerical comprehension. Education: NFQ Level 4 or equivalent when accessing a Level 5 programme. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English Mature learner entry requirements available via the local ETB pathway Additional requirements may apply to non-EU/EEA Applicants and may be subject to full international fees (Please refer to Information for International Learners) *Each provider may have additional requirements, not outlined above. Aptitude: Applicants must have a motivation to learn, an interest in the subject and the ability to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies set out in the course. Previous Experience: Applicants must be able to demonstrate a moderate range of knowledge, skills and competencies relevant to the course, be able to work with responsibility and demonstrate the ability to work on their own initiative.
