Irish & History

Students on the BA Irish and History will receive intensive tuition in the Irish language with 3-4 hours of language instruction each week. Students on this pathway choose from a wide range of modules relating to Irish culture and society such as the short story, poetry, Gaelic identity, mythology and Scottish Gaelic.

Irish leaving certificate requirements H3H3H3H3H3H3/H2H3H3H3H3 including Higher Level grade H3 in Irish For applicants offering Irish Leaving Certificate, please note that performance at Irish Junior Certificate (IJC) is taken into account. For last year’s entry applicants for this degree must have had, a minimum of 5 IJC grades C/Merit. The Selector also checks that any specific entry requirements in terms of Leaving Certificate subjects can be satisfied.
