Irish - Early & Modern Irish

You will study the language of Ireland from the emergence of writing on Ogham stones at the dawn of the Christian era down to the great saga manuscripts of the twelfth century. You will explore the rich culture and literature of Medieval Ireland and learn to read and translate texts from medieval manuscripts independently. Minimum Entry Requirements: Irish Leaving Certificate To be considered for admission to a degree course at the University applicants must: Present six subjects, three of which must be at grade 5 or above on higher Leaving Certificate papers.
