Programme summary

This course provides a recognized qualification necessary for working as a healthcare assistant in a variety of settings, including hospitals, day and residential care, mental health, palliative care and in the community.

Minimum Entry Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate (or equivalent)
  • No academic requirements for over 23s
  • Applicants whose first language is not English need to have a B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Language test.
  • Successful candidates will be required to have obtained Garda Clearance before commencing their work experience placement.
