Programme summary

This course aims to introduce learners to the hair sector, covering the characteristics of the industry, the range of services and treatments, different types of salons, and the clients they attract.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be 16+ years of age on entry to the course. Competent written and spoken English (CEFR B1 or Higher). Non-EU/EEA applicants must have permission to work in Ireland. Additional The Level 2 Diplomas/Certificates/Awards in Hairdressing and Barbering are suitable for people who have taken a level 2 or level 1 qualification, and/or have been working in the industry and are looking to accredit their skills and knowledge. These qualifications provide progression opportunities for those with intentions of progressing into a supervisory or more technical role or onto a level 3 qualification. The Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing is suitable for learners who have taken a level 2 or level 3 qualification and/or have been working in the industry and are looking to accredit their skills and knowledge. This qualification provides progression opportunities for those with intentions of progressing into employment or onto further education with City and Guilds or other awarding body. Aptitude: Interest in working in Hairdressing Previous Experience: Desirable but not essential
