Programme summary
Be part of the latest revolution in biology! Genetics is studying DNA, the blueprint for life. Your genome – all your DNA code – is more than 3 billion letters long! In genomics, you work out the genome code for any organism and use the DNA data to make important biological discoveries in areas such as medicine, agriculture, evolution and the environment. If you’re passionate about biology, and want to combine it with some mathematics and data science, this course might be for you!
Entry requirements
Leaving Certificate Entry Requirements: Minimum Grade H5 in two subjects and passes in four additional subjects at O6/H7 level in the Leaving Certificate, including Irish, English, a laboratory science subject (i.e. Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Physics with Chemistry (joint),Computer Science or Agricultural Science) and any two other subjects recognised for entry purposes. Additional Requirements Minimum grade H5 or O1 in Mathematics.
