Fundamentals of Understanding & Responding to Domestic, Sexual & Gender-Based Violence

This programme will be of particular interest to those individuals whose work may bring them into contact with victims of DSGBV. This programme aims to facilitate learners with a critical foundation in, and understanding of, the principles; concepts; theories; applications and contexts of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence through a trauma-informed lens.

Applicants should have a full Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent. Applicants who do not have a level 7 qualification may apply for entry to the programme in accordance with the procedures outlined in the DkIT Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy. (view policy) Learn more about RPL at DkIT Applicants who do not meet the above criteria may be interviewed to determine their suitability for the programme. DkIT requires that current service users of Domestic, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence support services do not undertake this programme. They should delay their application until such time as they are no longer an active service user. This will avoid potential professional conflict of interest between current service users and other programme participants. Due to the blended delivery of this programme, students should have access to a personal computer/device, a headset with a microphone and a broadband internet connection to ensure full participation in the programme.
