Programme summary

Food and nutrition are vital for health and eating certain foods can reduce the risk of many serious diseases. This course will teach you about the relationship between food, nutrition, and health. Knowledge of this relationship is important so that we can engage with the food industry to develop sustainable food options that satisfy the needs of the consumer, and have the potential to improve the health and well-being of our society.

Entry requirements

Irish Leaving Certificate 96 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 5 subjects (four of which must be at Higher Level). Essential Subject requirements: grades H4/H4 in two subjects from Biology, Chemistry, Home Economics, Maths, and Physics. If you do not pass Maths nor Chemistry at H4 as they are required for prior learning, you will be required to achieve a minimum of H6/O4 in addition to the two essential subjects. The minimum requirement for English is H6/O4.
