Food Innovation & Technology

The new Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Food Innovation and Technology is pending final approval by Ulster University. The course has been redesigned to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to develop and produce innovative, nutritious and safe foods.

Applicants must satisfy Ulster University’s General Entrance Requirements for Ulster University and show evidence of competence in written and spoken English (GCSE Grade C or equivalent) and, where specified within individual course entry requirements, in numeracy (GCSE grade C or equivalent). General Entrance Requirements for Ulster University https://www.ulster.ac.uk/study/entrance-requirements Students must have achieved 48 UCAS points at A2 Level and have a Grade D or higher in a Science* related subject at A2 level. In addition, GCSE Science at Grade C or higher is also required. The initial offer standard may vary from year to year. In addition, students need to provide evidence of passes in four different subjects, of which one should be at GCE Advanced Level (A Level Grades A to E) and three at GCSE Level (Grades A to C) or an equivalent standard in an approved alternative qualification. *Acceptable Science subjects at A2 Level: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Applied Science, Physics, Nutrition and Food Science, Environmental Science/Technology, Geography, Health and Social Care, Life and Health Sciences, Physical Education, Agricultural Science. For other qualifications, including Irish Leaving Certificate, please consult the UCAS website Tariff Tables. Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Foundation Level are not considered as meeting entry requirements for CAFRE programmes.
