Programme summary

This course combines fashion buying, merchandising, trend forecasting, product development and retail strategy to prepare graduates for careers across fashion buying, merchandising, product development, retail operations and the wider fashion industry.

Entry requirements

  • Leaving Certificate requirements - Applicants presenting an Irish Leaving Certificate are typically required to achieve a minimum grade of O6/H7 in English and Maths (Foundation Maths accepted), together with passes in four other recognised subjects.
  • Students may be accepted onto this programme without a Leaving Certificate. Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: A QQI Level 5 Major Award (preferably, but not exclusively, in fashion buying & merchandising, fashion design, fashion styling & visual merchandising or a related discipline). , an alternative qualification in fashion, retail, business, marketing, design or a related field, an undergraduate degree in another subject area or a relevant professional or industry experience through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).
  • English Language Requirements: Applicants whose first language is not English may be required to demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following: IELTS Academic: Minimum overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component. Duolingo English Test: Minimum score of 120 with at least 100 in each sub-score. TOEFL: Minimum score of 80. Applicants who have completed previous education through the medium of English may also satisfy the English language requirements.
  • Applicants requiring a visa to study in Ireland are not currently eligible for admission to this programme.
