Programme summary

The Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Equine Management, validated by Ulster University, is unique within the island of Ireland. This full-time course, which has been developed in consultation with the equine industry, aims to produce motivated graduates with practical and managerial skills and the ability to make sound judgements in all aspects of managing an equine enterprise.

Entry requirements

Students should normally have 48 UCAS tariff points at A2 Level plus three GCSE subjects at Grade C including English Language, Mathematics or equivalent. In addition to meeting the course entry requirements applicants must also meet the General Entrance Requirements for Ulster University General Entrance Requirements for Ulster University https://www.ulster.ac.uk/study/entrance-requirements For other qualifications, including Irish Leaving Certificate, please consult the UCAS website Tariff Tables. Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Foundation Level are not considered as meeting entry requirements for CAFRE programmes. If you require guidance on entry qualifications please email the Key Contact for this course. Practical experience: Those wishing to undertake the riding should be at British Horse Society Stage 2 Level as a guide, but they do not need to hold the qualification. All those wishing to ride must take and be successful in the campus riding assessment. Please note the weight limit for riding is 89kg (14 stone), including tack and equipment.
