Duration: 1 year part-time, online. Recommended Study Hours per week This programme involves three (5-credit) modules per semester which leads to an average of 15-18 study hours per week. Live lectures normally take place between 6pm and 10pm, three evenings per week. Independent study hours will be reflective of a student’s experience. On-Campus Attendance Requirement Workshops occur twice per semester at the Sligo Campus, or remotely online, on a Friday generally from 9.30am-4.30pm. Note: Check programme Examination and Assessment requirements, as they may involve examinations to be taken on campus.

Programme summary

This course will prepare local authority engineers, and engineers employed by consultants and contractors with the knowledge, skills and competences required for successful road maintenance engineering and network management operation.

Entry requirements

BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Applicants without the standard academic qualification and with significant relevant work experience may also be considered through ATU Sligo’s Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process. RPL is a process that may allow you to gain admission to a programme or to receive exemptions / credit from some parts of a programme based on demonstrated learning that you may have achieved through another programme of study or through your work and career.
