Programme summary
Civil Engineers design, construct and maintain the Built Environment on which our modern societies depend. Civil Engineering includes our Roads, the Supply of Safe Water, Sewage and Wastewater treatment, our Buildings and our Bridges, our Railways, our Airports and Electricity Generation. Ensuring that we Protect our Natural Environment while maintaining this critical infrastructure in a Sustainable manner is an increasingly important part of what Civil Engineers do.
Entry requirements
2 subjects: H5 4 subjects: O6/H7 English or Irish: O6/H7 Mathematics: H4 Special Entrance Examination in Mathematics Students who do not meet the H4 grade in Higher Level Mathematic may sit SETU Carlow’s special mathematics examination. This special pre-honours degree mathematics examination is considered equivalent to Higher Level Mathematics and will be held in August / September each year as required. To be eligible for entry to the programme applicants must achieve a pass in this pre-honours degree mathematics examination.
