Programme summary

Civil Engineering deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and built environment. A career in civil engineering allows graduates to make a real contribution to improving people’s everyday lives by planning, designing, constructing and managing large-scale building projects, from roads to skyscrapers, hospitals to wind farms and airports to seaports.

Entry requirements

A minimum of 2 H5 & 4 O6/H7 grades in six Leaving Certificate subjects. Applicants will need to meet the following subject requirements: English or Irish O6/H7 Mathematics H4. TUS will offer a special qualifying Mathematics examination for students who achieve sufficient CAO points but do not meet the requisite grade of a H4 in Mathematics.
