Entry requirements
This is a top-up qualification for graduates of recognised postgraduate educational leadership and/or educational management diploma programmes. A minimum of a postgraduate diploma in educational leadership and/or management or cognate areas e.g. school leadership (60 credit, NFQ Level 8 or equivalent honours degree) will be required for entry to the programme. Note: there must be a gap of at least one academic year between completion of the recognised postgraduate educational leadership and/or educational management diploma programmes and application to the new top up Master's programme. Graduates of MU's past leadership programmes, i.e., Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership programme (HDEDL/MH61G) and Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Management programme (HDEDMG/MH59G) are eligible to apply. Graduates from non-Maynooth University postgraduate diplomas in educational leadership and/or educational management programmes (60 credit, NFQ Level 8 or equivalent honours degree) i.e. from other universities are eligible to apply. The Top-up Master in Educational Leadership and Management result will be calculated based on 30 credits only, made up of modules ED684 and ED685, see details of these in the module list below (Approved Academic Council December 2019). Note places on the T-M.Ed. ELM are limited, so the closing date is provisional. There is a limit to the number of applications accepted, and places are allocated on a first come first served basis. The MU Apply application process will close when places have been filled and applicants should apply early to avoid disappointment. However, we will offer a waiting list option.
