Prerequisites: Minimum grade O4 Leaving Certificate (or equivalent) in English Language, Mathematics and Science. BEd interview: Entry to the programme depends on a successful interview. Applicants Presenting Irish Leaving Certificate Qualifications

• Applicants must pass a minimum of five subjects at higher level for admission to BEd degree and BA Liberal Arts degree programmes.
• Where competition for places is high, six higher Leaving Certificate grades will be required.
• Applicants for the BEd programme must have achieved at least a grade O4 in English, Mathematics and Science at Leaving Certificate (or equivalent). ILC (Higher) Subject Requirement ENGLISH H2 in English Literature HISTORY H3 in History IRISH H3 in Irish MATHEMATICS H2 in Mathematics MUSIC H3 in Music or acceptable alternative N1 PHYSICAL EDUCATION H2 or above in PE or a related subject RELIGIOUS STUDIES H2 in Religious Studies SCIENCE H3 in two of the following; Biology, Chemistry or Physics N1 If no H3 in Music, the applicant is eligible if they have a Grade 6 or above in Instrumental or Vocal. If no H3 in Music or Grade 6 Instrumental or Vocal, the applicant is eligible if they have O4 Music (or equivalent) and Grade 5 Music Theory
