- 2 years, part-time, blended. Delivery The Higher Certificate in Arts in Literacy Development is a part-time blended learning modular programme with a flexible delivery model that facilitates the working practitioner. This modular programme is delivered through a combination of face-to-face and blended learning. Classes are delivered in weekend blocks (Friday and Saturday) on the Cork Road campus in Waterford (on average one or two per month).
Programme summary
The Higher Certificate in Arts in Literacy Development is a 120 credit, NFQ Level 6 award aimed at current adult literacy tutors, adult and further education tutors and practitioners working or volunteering in the Further Education and Training (FET) sector.
Entry requirements
Applicants must Have on-going experience in adult literacy for the duration of the programme and must show a capacity for third-level study. Complete an application form and in some cases attend for interview in order to assess their suitability for the programme. Applicants whose primary language is not English must submit evidence of competency in English through SETU's English entry requirements procedure at https://www.setu.ie/english-language-requirements Non-Standard Applicants/Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Applicants with significant professional experience in further education may apply for exemptions using the RPL Policy.
