Computer Systems & Networks - Advanced

This course will provide training to students on the client-server networked environment, incorporating physical, virtual, on-premises and cloud technologies. It provides comprehensive coverage of networking topics, from fundamentals to cybersecurity and services, with opportunities for hands-on practical experience and career skills development. The course is closely aligned to the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) professional qualification.

Students should have successfully completed an appropriate QQI Level 5 course, such as Computer and Network Technician (Year 1), Software Development (Year 1), or Computer Games Programming or Design, all available at Cavan Institute. A minimum of 4 passes in the level 5 award is required. Equal consideration will be given to mature applicants (those aged over 23) who do not meet this entry requirement but can demonstrate relevant interest and experience.
