Programme summary
This course introduces students to the principles and practices of software development with a strong emphasis on Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) and User Interface (UI) design. Students will learn how to design, develop, and evaluate software systems that focus not only on high-quality coding but also on usability, accessibility, and the overall user experience (UX). Through hands-on projects, students will apply HCI principles to create intuitive, user-centred software solutions.
Entry requirements
Leaving Certificate with at least O6 or H7 in mathematics or relevant industry experience. CERFL proficiency at B2 for access to Level 5 courses for those whose first language is not English. Mature students are exempt from Leaving Certificate requirement. All applicants will undergo a processing stage during which further information will be gathered in relation to their application. An offer of a place on this course is contingent on the applicant meeting the entry requirements set out here and satisfactory completion of the processing stage.
