Programme summary
The study of Classical Languages is concerned with the language, literature and thought of either Ancient Greece or Ancient Rome. Linguistics is the scientific study of language. Linguists investigate how language works; how patterns of sounds, words and sentences combine to convey meaning.
Entry requirements
Minimum Entry Requirements: Irish Leaving Certificate To be considered for admission to a degree course at the University applicants must: Present six subjects, three of which must be at grade 5 or above on higher Leaving Certificate papers. The six subjects above must include: A pass in English A pass in mathematics (or foundation level mathematics) A pass in a language other than English. Specific Subjects Required Classical Languages H4 in Greek, Latin or a language other than English Linguistics O2/H6 in a Language other than English or Irish
