Applied Early Childhood Leadership & Management

The aim of this programme is to nurture the students' personal, social and professional development to support a competent professional early years educator/leaders who is committed to providing the highest quality administration in leadership, governance and management.

Level 7 BA in Early years or equivalent. The level 7 academic programme must have included research. Graduates of other disciplines will be assessed for entry through the recognition of prior learning process on an individual case by case basis. Candidates may be interviewed. Learn more about RPL at DkIT Work experience: Applicants should have access to a Tusla Registered Early Years’ service or work in another relevant organisation in the Early Years Sector throughout their Programme for a minimum of 15 hours per week. This is to facilitate the integration of theory with practice (focus on reflexivity) and to meet the programme learning outcomes. This programme requires that students complete professional practice placement for the duration of the programme (i.e. They must continuously be employed for a min of 15 hrs per week in a Tusla registered early years’ service). Applicants who cannot commit to this (due to for example maternity leave/sick leave/paternity leave etc which results in non-attendance in the work placement setting ) should defer their place on the programme until such time as they are in a position to commit to this requirement. If applicants have any queries about this, they should contact the programme director/head of section Due to the blended learning delivery within this course, students should have access to a PC / Mac and a broadband internet connection from home, so as to be able to fully participate in the course.
